At approximately 11:50 a.m. on July 11, Moose Jaw RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 2 north of Buffalo Pound Lake.

The road was closed to traffic for some time, as those involved were tended to by EMS and the scene was cleared of debris.

The highway has since reopened to traffic in both directions.

The initial investigation indicated a southbound truck had attempted to avoid the southbound SUV in front, which slowed to make a turn.

The truck veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a northbound car.

Two adult females travelling in the northboundÌýcarÌýsuffered from serious injuries. One woman was transported to hospital in Moose Jaw by the EMS. The other casualty was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to hospital in Regina.

No other injuries were reported.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision.

The investigation is still ongoing.

When officers arrived at the scene, a number of individuals happened to be in the area. Amongst them were some nurses, a paramedic and aÌýfirefighter, who were already assisting the injured.

The public also helped by blocking off the road, thus ensuring the safety of other motorists, the first responders and all of those at the scene.
