WEYBURN – The Friends of Isaiah fundraiser group hosted a dessert and concert evening on Monday evening at the Knox Hall.
Recently the group held a Family Day fundraiser at Leicester’s Restaurant and made $11,050.
The dessert and concert evening, which featured the Weyburn Comp’s RISE Choir with Isaiah’s older brother Liam as one of the singers, raised $1,642, plus a donation of $3,800 was made by the Weyburn Rotary Club.
A donation of $500 was made recently by the Weyburn Credit Union, to bring the grand total raised so far to $68,897 as of Tuesday afternoon, said fundraiser organizer and caregiver Shannon Seitz.
The goal is to raise $100,000 for a medical van for the safe transport of Isaiah to community events, school or to medical appointments. There is a gofundme page, and a trust fund account set up at the Weyburn Credit Union, where people can give donations directly.
The sale of cards, for $5 each, will continue to be available at Leicester’s for the month of June.
In addition, Hopfe Driver Training is continuing to collect donations of cans and bottles at their location adjacent to Fido’s Doggy Day Care on Queen Street. This fundraiser has been extended to continue through the summer.
