ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service have responded to a number of calls in the past couple of days.
Police received a report Wednesday of an individual driving erratically who might be impaired. Members located the vehicle. No signs of impairment were noted and the driver passed a roadside screening test. The motorist was ticketed for not having a valid driver’s licence.
A report of damage to a door in the south part of the city was received. Nothing appears to have been taken from the residence. The matter is still under investigation.
A suspicious person in the south part of the city was reported. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.
Several youths were reported to be causing a disturbance in the north part of the city. Members attended, spoke with the youths and sent them in their way.
Police received a report Thursday of a suspicious person throwing items at passing vehicles. Members were unable to locate him at the time but were able to determine he was not throwing items at vehicles.
A report came in of an individual walking on a roadway in the north part of the city. Members attended and located him. He was spoken with and left in the care of his family.
There was a report of a large fire in a fire pit in a backyard. Members attended and spoke with the homeowner. He was informed of the bylaw and warned to maintain safe fire practices.
Charges were laid against an individual for failing to comply with conditions of her release order when members attended to conduct a curfew check.
Police received a report of an intoxicated individual passed out in the hallway of a local motel. Members attended and the male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.
