ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members received a report of a criminal harassment matter on July 21.

The individual was reporting that the behaviour has been going on for some time. The matter is under investigation.

The same day, a report of two suspicious people walking around vehicles in the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Third Street was also received. Extra patrols were completed in the area and the matters are being looked into further. Police encourage the public to report any suspicious activity.

A traffic stop resulted in a driver under the age of 21 being issued a 60-day licence suspension and their vehicle being impounded for three days.

A small black poodle was also turned into the EPS that day. The dog was taken to the Estevan Humane Society. A short time later, the owner of the dog contacted EPS regarding the dog.

In the afternoon of July 23, members attended to a Hillside area disturbance. Officers spoke to the individuals present and moderated a solution for the rest of the day.

Police also received a report of an individual breaching his release conditions by residing with someone the court has ordered him not to live with. The matter is still under investigation.

The EPS received a complaint about an off-leash dog jumping on a walker as they walked by. Police remind the public that you are required to have control of your dog when you are off your property. It is important to understand that not all individuals are comfortable around dogs.

Police responded to a total of 53 occurrences over the weekend. Calls for service included theft of recycling from a yard, multiple criminal harassment files, an impaired driving investigation and several mental health calls.

Police patrolled the street dance and are happy to report that there were lots of people in attendance and no issues.
