It was a busy Victoria Day long weekend for members of the Estevan Police Service, as they responded to 78 calls for service from May 20-23.
A report of a cougar came from the area around Rooks Avenue and Duncan Road. The animal was not located upon members searching the area.
Several complaints came in of patrons refusing to leave licensed premises when asked to do so by staff. Each of the individuals left upon members attending and no further actions were required.
A four-year-old female was located wandering on Second Street and she was reunited with parents a short time later.
A report of a hit and run came in from a local restaurant. The vehicle was located the next day and the matter is still under investigation.
Officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Souris Avenue North and Edward Street. The cause of the collision is believed to have been a medical condition and the vehicle was towed as it was no longer drivable.
As a result of the actions of a 24-year-old man observed in the downtown area, he was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. It was further determined that he had active warrants of arrest with the Regina Police Service and was remanded to attend court in Regina on May 24.
