A domestic disturbance on the city's north side on the night of July 13, required the attention of the Estevan Police Service (EPS). No charges were laid after police spoke with both people involved in the incident.

A report of children climbing on the roof of the new Spectra Place complex led to a call to police who were unable to locate the suspects who had fled prior to their arrival.

On the night of July 14, EPS members responded to a motor vehicle accident on Kensington Avenue. The call also involved emergency medical services personnel who were asked to check on the condition of one of the drivers involved in the accident since she was eight months pregnant. This driver was released from hospital a short while later with no detected injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was charged for leaving a stop sign before it was safe to do so.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A report of a fire in a power transformer in the 700 block of Second Street on the night of July 14 led to a call to EPS as well as Estevan Fire Rescue and SaskPower personnel. The SaskPower team ascertained that tree branches hitting the power lines had caused the problems so the matter was addressed.

Police were then alerted that a vehicle that had not stopped for clearance at the North Portal Customs and Immigration Office was heading into Estevan. EPS members intercepted the vehicle as it entered the city and the vehicle and its occupants were turned over to members of the Estevan RCMP detachment who escorted them back to the port to be dealt with by officials there.

On the night of July 15, police received another complaint of more young people getting on the roof at Spectra Place. This time the youths were located and spoken to by police.

On that same night, three reports of mischief were reported. One report noted there had been damage done to a lawn tractor at a local business, the second involved young people throwing rocks at a residence while the third involved an intoxicated man kicking at the glass door entrance to a local apartment building. All incidents were investigated with the intoxicated male being taken into custody for the evening where it was discovered he also had outstanding warrants for his arrest for other misdemeanours.

On the night of July 15, two young people were charged with being in possession of marijuana, one 46-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and driving while his blood-alcohol level was over .08 per cent, and several other tickets were issued for traffic and Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act offences.

The next night EPS members charged three more people for driving while impaired and driving while over .08.

The first of these incidents involved a 46-year-old who was driving erratically in the Macoun district where his actions nearly caused several accidents. His vehicle was followed into Estevan by complainants where it was stopped by EPS members who made the arrest and levied the charges that also including dangerous driving and driving while suspended as well as impaired driving.

The vehicle the man had been driving was seized and during their investigation police discovered that this particular person was also wanted by Prince Albert Police Service on outstanding warrants so he was taken into custody to be transported to PA where he faces several fraud charges.

EPS members noted that a significant amount of alcohol was taken from the vehicle and a 44-year-old male passenger was also charged for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.

The two men now have an August 29 court date set.

The second impaired driver incident also came about due to erratic driving behaviour. The vehicle was stopped in the Westview area of the city and a 29-year-old man was arrested and lodged in cells and was also scheduled for an August 29 court appearance.

The third impaired driver was also charged following the observation of erratic driving. The 50-year-old female operator was also given an August 29 court date.

Police were kept especially busy on this particular night due to noise complaints that had to be checked out. One involved loud music on the city's north side, the second was attributed to young people making some noise in a residential area on the south side, which led to a warning for the owner of a residence.

On that same night police were called to Kensington Avenue in response to a report of a cab driver being assaulted by a customer. The 35-year-old suspect was arrested and lodged in cells due to his extremely intoxicated condition. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Later that night police responded to a call regarding a possible gun being fired on the east side of the city. It was determined that the noise had not been a gunshot, but rather something being thrown at the residence, so the investigation continues.

Another resident reported some items that had been set out for a yard sale that had not been sold, had gone missing overnight.

Police also arrested a 17-year-old male for breaching the conditions of a curfew order when he was found in the central part of the city past the curfew hours on the night of July 16.

Police wrapped up a very busy evening shift by responding to three security alarm calls, although all turned out to be false.
