ESTEVAN — Estevan Police Service members dealt with several issues over the past few days.

On Jan. 21, police arrested a 29-year-old Estevan man after they were called to an apartment complex in the city's northeast. The intoxicated male was trying to enter another person's apartment. The man was located on scene and arrested. He was lodged in cells until he could sober up. He has been charged for causing a disturbance contrary to Section 175(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Police also received a report of five youths that entered a local hotel and were running around the building and knocking on at least one door. The youths were not staying at the hotel and left a short time later. One youth was identified, and police were able to contact him to attend the police station. The five young people attended within minutes and took full responsibility for their actions. Police believe that this will be an isolated incident with this group of young people.

Police received a report of a male banging on a door in the Pleasantdale area of the city on Jan. 19. Police attended and spoke to an Estevan male. He was told he would have to leave. He was going to drive away but was informed that police would enter into an impaired driving investigation as the members believed he was impaired by drug. The male made the right choice and left in a taxi.

The same day, police received a RID (Report an Impaired Driver) call. The vehicle was described and reported to be heading to Estevan on Highway 39 east of the city. Police attended and were not able to locate the vehicle.

Police also received a complaint from a local liquor establishment in relation to two males being intimidating. Police attended and initially arrested one of the males but later released him with a warning and he returned to his hotel room.

On Jan. 20, police conducted a traffic stop and the driver was asked to provide a sample of his breath in the ASD. The 44-year-old male's reading resulted in a 72-hour suspension and his vehicle was towed.
