ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service says it dealt with 38 occurrences from Dec. 23-25.

These included a motorist failing to report a collision to a property owner, several well-being checks on individuals, and a number of mischief and assault complaints.

Multiple traffic stops were conducted on Dec. 24 and 25, with no drivers found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The EPS says it will continue to monitor drivers throughout the holiday season, and they are very pleased that motorists are choosing not to drive while impaired.

Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in south Estevan on Dec. 26. Members contacted the homeowner and occupants, and mediated the situation. No further police involvement was necessary.

Police attended to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the Westview area. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved. The EPS reminds drivers that a vehicle cannot be parked on a city street for longer than 24 hours, according to the city bylaw. With the recent snowfall, motorists are asked to move all vehicles off of the streets if able to assist the city with snow removal.
