A man who was arrested by Estevan Police Service (EPS) personnel on May 18 for causing a disturbance at a local business was discovered to have outstanding warrants levied against him from another jurisdiction.

While he was being arrested, the man became belligerent to police so he was retained in custody until he regained sobriety. He now faces charges of being intoxicated in public, uttering threats and breaching probation orders. A June court date awaits him.

On May 19, EPS members were called with regards to a man and woman who were engaged in a fracas outside a local lounge. When they arrived, they noted that the intoxicated female had cuts on her hand. Their investigation revealed that when the woman got angry she had punched a mirror on a vehicle that was parked nearby, breaking it and cutting her hand.

The woman was arrested and lodged in cells until sober and is slated to appear in court in June to answer to a charge of mischief as well as other charges.

Police also located a man who was intoxicated and seen checking out parked vehicles. He was subsequently arrested and lodged in cells until sober and the matter surrounding his activities remains under investigation.

On the night of May 20, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving and driving while her blood-alcohol content was over .08 per cent. The arrest was made after police received a complaint regarding the accused who was seen leaving the parking area at a local lounge in her vehicle. She was intercepted on the west side of the city. She now has a July 18 court date.

Police later received two more calls regarding potential impaired drivers who were on Highways 39 and 47 approaching Estevan. In both instances, police were unable to locate the suspect vehicles.
A noise complaint coming from an apartment complex on the north side of the city required police attention on May 20. The occupants were warned about the City's noise bylaw and no further action was required.

Police were unable to locate the operator of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) that was reported to have been driving on the east side of the city on the night of May 20. EPS issued a repeat warning to local ATV owners that it is illegal to operate these vehicles within city limits.

A disturbance at a local night club required police attention on the night of May 21. The people involved in the incident were separated and sent on their way and no further police action was required.

Another disturbance erupted a short while later outside a north end residence. The incident occurred when an unwanted guest arrived at a party that was being held at the home. The matter was diffused with the assistance of police and the unwanted guest was given a ride home.

A break-in at an apartment on the city's north side on the night of May 21 was being investigated by EPS members. A person or persons had entered the home and caused damage to the home as well as damage to a vehicle parked outside. This matter remains under investigation.

Police attended to a noise complaint on the south side of the city that same night. They learned that the occupant was working on renovations to his residence which was disturbing his neighbours due to the lateness of the night. He was warned about the City's noise bylaw and no further action was required by police.
