COVID-19 update: 11 deaths, 274 new cases, 118 in hospital, 713 recoveries

One new death in the age group 60-69 was reported in the North East, one new death in the age group 50-59 was reported in Saskatoon, three new deaths in the age group 80+ were reported in Saskatoon, four new deaths in the age group 80+ were reported in Regina, one new death in the age group 70-79 was reported in the Â鶹´«Ã½AV East and one new death in the age group 80+ was reported in the Â鶹´«Ã½AV East.

This marked the largest one day increase in the number of COVID-19 deaths in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began.

There were 274 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on December 12, 2020, bringing the provincial total to date to 11,749 cases.

The new cases were located in the Far North West (8), Far North East (19), North West (43), North Central (23), North East (5), Saskatoon (78), Central West (2), Central East (13), Regina (57), Â鶹´«Ã½AV West (2), Â鶹´«Ã½AV Central (12) and Â鶹´«Ã½AV East (10) zones and two new cases had pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North East (from Dec 9 and North Central (from Dec 8) zones. The seven-day average of daily new cases was 292 (24.1 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 4,097 cases out of the 11,749 cases considered active. A total of 7,566 individuals recovered.

It is anticipated the number of cases designated as active will decline as older cases are reviewed and potentially shifted to recovered status.
