WEYBURN – The following notices were posted by the City of Weyburn in the aftermath of the spring storm on Wednesday.
City crews were out tackling priority routes as of 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, and crews will follow a cycle of priority route clearing until the storm system subsides. At that time, the Public Works department will evaluate what resources can be allocated to clearing secondary routes.
Travel on highways is not recommended unless necessary and extra caution should be taken when driving within city limits.
The Weyburn Leisure Centre closed at 4 p.m. Wednesday, and all aqua fitness, swimming lessons and public swimming were cancelled. The pool is slated to reopen on Thursday at 6:20 a.m. for regular programming.
Area 1 garbage collection scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Friday, April 21, so both area 1 and 2 will be collected on Friday. No changes have been made to the recycling schedule.
The Weyburn Landfill is also closed as of noon on Wednesday, until further notice.
