The Estevan Chamber of Commerce has significantly increased its online presence with the launch of four new websites.
The sites, which were unveiled to the public last week, tap into four of the chamber's key areas such as tourism, economic development and the Souris Valley Museum, which they own and operate.
The chamber's main website can be found at estevanchamber.ca and features information about the chamber, membership in the organization and its upcoming events.
As the name indicates, tourismestevan.com focuses on tourism activities in the area. It has a comprehensive list of Estevan's top tourist attractions as well information on accommodations and a community events calendar.
The chamber has also created a site to assist individuals or businesses looking to become part of the red-hot local economy. Estevaneconomicdevelopment.ca contains information on the local business landscape as well as the usual demographic data that is sought by businesses looking to invest in a particular community.
The other new site focuses on the Souris Valley Museum, its exhibits, programs and upcoming events at their location west of Estevan on Highway 39. The site can be found at: sourisvalleymuseum.com
The chamber also released its 2012 operating plan at its monthly meeting last Wednesday at Allie's Dining.
The plan indicates that the chamber will continue to act as an advocate for local business by lobbying for a long term community plan. They also plan to push all levels of government to increase available housing and will continue to press the province to get a commitment regarding the heavy truck bypass around Estevan.
Growing its membership will also be a focus in 2012 as will economic development.
