REGINA — When Brett Kissel first appeared on stage at Mosaic Place in the fall of 2014, he closed out his concert-opening set for Brad Paisley by promising he’d return to Canada’s Most Notorious city in the future.
Back then, he was a little-known up-and-coming country music performer, cutting his teeth on a national tour with one of the most established acts around.
Now, Kissel has three gold records, a string of platinum singles and more Juno and Canadian Country Music Association awards than he can carry. And with all those accolades, it would have been easy to skip over a city this size when he hit the road for his ‘It’s Showtime’ tour in late May.
Not a chance.
Kissel and special guest Jade Eagleson were back in Moose Jaw on Saturday night, with 2,000-plus fans taking in the popular artist’s set. They were treated to a nearly two-hour long performance when Kissel took the stage featuring a mix of new and old tunes that had the crowd singing along with glee.
Kissel made a special point of thanking everyone for coming out after so much time away from live shows, and his performance showed that energy from start to finish.
Here’s a look at some of the action from Saturday night!
