A few incidents involving vehicles and a couple of disagreements kept the Estevan Police Service (EPS) busy on June 9.

A disturbance at a local lounge led to one woman being removed from the premises after being spoken to by police who noted that the other person involved in the event had already departed the scene.

The next call that required a response was for a domestic dispute at a residence in the central part of the city. Both of the combatants had been drinking, but the matter was eventually resolved with no further police action required.

Another disturbance on the city's west side required police attention later that night. They learned that a vehicle had become stuck in the mud and was blocking traffic which had led to an argument between the driver of the stuck vehicle and another driver involved in the situation who was attempting to get past the mess. The matter was resolved when the mired truck was towed out of the mud.

A motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Souris Avenue and Eva Street was reported to police who noted that no injuries had occurred.

The operator of a westbound vehicle turning off Eva Street was charged for leaving a stop sign before it was safe to do so. The driver had pulled in front of a southbound vehicle that had been travelling along Souris.

A second motor vehicle accident was handled that same night, this time on the city's west side.

A semi-unit was leaving a parking lot and made a sharp turn which resulted in the trailer striking a stop sign and damaging it. No other damages were reported.

A noise complaint coming from the city's north side was also investigated by police who issued a warning to the occupant of the home.

On June 10, EPA members set up an investigation into a reported assault and attempted robbery after a male victim who was driving his vehicle was forced off the road and assaulted on the north side of the city. The suspects were driving an early 1990's model silver or grey Ford pickup with a push bar on the front bumper.

Contact had been made between the two vehicles during the incident and it is believed the suspect's vehicle was damaged in the front passenger side and perhaps the push bar.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contract the EPS at 634-4767 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

That same night, three men were arrested and lodged in cells overnight for being intoxicated in public. The first man, a 24-year-old, was witnessed passed out at a local lounge and the other two, aged 18 and 19 were also located in passed out condition in a parking lot. All three were charged for the same offence and were released after they regained sobriety.
