All-candidates' forum Thursday

Local voters will have a chance to hear from their candidates in the upcoming provincial Thursday night.

Local voters will have a chance to hear from their candidates in the upcoming provincial Thursday night. The Estevan and District Board of Tourism, Trade and Commerce is hosting an all-candidates' forum Thursday at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall beginning at 7 p.m.

Incumbent MLA Doreen Eagles, NDP candidate Blair Schoenfeld and Sigfredo Gonzalez of the Green Party are all expected to be in attendance at the forum.

"We feel this is an important event to ensure the general public and the business community is aware of each candidates' stance regarding local pressing issues and their priorities for the coming years; our province is at a critical point in its history and so it's imperative that voters are educated about their options," said Michel Cyrenne of the Estevan and District Board of Tourism, Trade and Commerce.

The Estevan Mercury will be on hand for the forum and will have highlights on www.estevanmercury.ca following the event. Access Communications has announced it will air the forum Saturday and Sunday at 10 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 10 p.m. on Access7.

"We're quite fortunate to have the ability to partner with Access Communications for this event to ensure as many people as possible are able to hear the message. We know a number of people aren't able to attend the live event, so it's great to know that it will be broadcast and heard on a broader level," said Cyrenne.
