It was variety week for members of the Estevan Police Service beginning on the night of March 24 when a caller asked them to locate a deer that had run into the side of their vehicle.

The driver was concerned that the deer might be injured and suffering. When police arrived at the scene, they spotted the deer in question, going across the ditch. It was perhaps a bit stunned at first, but probably not badly injured.

The next bit of business for police on the night of March 24, was fielding a concern from a man who entered the police station complaining about harassment from another individual. That matter was placed under investigation.

Two separate fights that broke out at a local lounge required police attention but on both occasions, one of the combatants had left the scene prior to the arrival of police. The others involved in the incidents were arrested on outstanding warrants and later released. One of the individuals was charged with being in possession of marijuana.

The next call that same night bore information that a drive-by shooter was responsible for firing paint balls at a parked vehicle. That matter remains under investigation.

A young female was the next person to visit police that night. She was concerned about her well being. After discussing her situation with an on-duty officer it was determined that she would go home to be with her parents for the remainder of the night.

A domestic disturbance was the attention getter for police on the afternoon of March 25. The incident broke out in the central part of the city when a family member from outside the home attended the residence to visit. Police noted they were not releasing additional information other than to state the matter remains under investigation.

A theft from a business was also being investigated that same day. The business owners noticed that the cash float was missing.

A 19-year -old man is facing charges of possession of an illegal drug under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act when he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana during a vehicle check. He is slated for a court appearance on April 26. The driver of the vehicle also received a 30 day suspension of his licence as a result of the roadside screening device check.

Two young girls who thought they saw someone on the deck of their apartment phoned police on the night of March 26. When police attended, they checked the immediate neighbourhood but weren't able to uncover anyone of a suspicious nature.

A domestic dispute involving a father and son was looked into by police on the night of March 26. Both subjects were intoxicated so the son was given a ride back to his residence and the matter was resolved.

A noisy stereo complaint was received that same night and the occupant of the residence in question was warned about the city's noise bylaw.

An act of mischief/vandalism at a local hotel resulted in the apprehension of the guilty parties who agreed to pay for the damages they had inflicted on the building.

A call regarding a disturbance at a local lounge was responded to by members of the EPS. A man inside the lounge had been bothering the servers and disturbing patrons, but had fled the scene prior to police arrival. EPS members checked the immediate surrounding areas but could not locate the man.

On the night of March 27, a 26-year-old man found himself facing charges of impaired driving as well as for refusing to provide breath samples following a police traffic stop . The stop had been provoked by the driving action of the accused. Police later discovered that the driver had already been suspended under the Traffic Safety Act. He will make a court appearance on April 26.

A disturbance at a local convenience store led to a call to police on the night of March 27. The matter was sorted out at the scene and the disputing parties were sent on their way with no further action required.
