The Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show is already sold out.
The biennial event is set for June 1 and 2, 2011 at the Weyburn Exhibition Grounds, with events taking place in all three arenas.
All 190 indoor booths and 133 outdoor booths have already been filled, with a long waiting list now in the works in case exhibitors drop out.
Chairman of the Weyburn Oil Show Board Ron Carson said that the show gets bigger and better every year, with the last show taking place in 2009.
"The show gets bigger every year so we're expecting every bit as much, if not more, than previous years," said Carson.
Carson said the Oil Show Board is hoping for many new applications for the Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year Award. The Oilpatch Awards recipients are chosen by the show's Board of Governors, but the Oilman Award is chosen from submitted nominations.
Carson said that anyone interested in nominating someone for Oilman of the Year can do so online.
Events at the 2011 show will kick-off with a golf tournament on Tuesday, May 31, followed by a steak and lobster dinner. On Wednesday, June 1, the Saskatchewan Oilpatch Awards will be handed out at a noon luncheon, and new inductees into the Oil Industry Hall of Fame will be introduced. The evening meal will feature a pit barbecue and the Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year will be presented.
All of the meals and award presentations will take place at the Weyburn Curling Rink. Indoor exhibits will fill Crescent Point Place and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena and outdoor booths will fill the Exhibition Grounds.
Details about special guests and keynote speakers are still being worked out, according to Carson.
