SaskTel employees give to local causes

Estevan and district employees of SaskTel participated in the annual TelCare program, the Crown Corporation鈥檚 employee donation benevolent fund once again in 2016.

As a result of their effort, $6,750 is being forwarded to six organizations in the local area to help them advance their programs.

SaskTel employees chose the Arthritis Society, Child Find Saskatchewan, Choose Life Ministry, Estevan Day Care Co-operative, Estevan Humane Society and United Way Estevan as the non-profit groups they wanted to support.

鈥淭elCare has become a special tradition championed by our employees for over65 years,鈥 said Ron Styles, SaskTel president and CEO. 鈥淭his completely voluntary program is an excellent reflection of SaskTel鈥檚 corporate culture and values, and has been embraced by our employees all over the province.鈥

SaskTel鈥檚 TelCare is made up of volunteer SaskTel employees who contribute funds through an automatic payroll deduction. SaskTel then matches those yearly totals, donating an additional 50 cents for every dollar employees raise through TelCare. Across the province, the TelCare program will contribute $291,425 to 69 Saskatchewan non-profit organizations this year.

SaskTel does about $1.2 billion in annual revenue and has approximately 1.4 million customer connections including 617,000 MaxTV subscribers.聽
