ESTEVAN - The City of Estevan has announced that a portion of an industrial road will be closed for the rest of the week.
Sixth Street is shut down from Second Avenue to Kensington Avenue, with no through traffic, due to road construction. There is no access from Sixth Street to Kensington Avenue.
For eastbound traffic travelling on Sixth Street, the detour is on Second Avenue to Fifth Street.
The public is requested to avoid this area until the construction work has been completed.
The city said Tuesday that the blocks would be closed for the day. An update Tuesday afternoon said they would be closed for the week, including the overnight hours.
Also, the 900-block of Third Street was closed Tuesday to complete a sewer replacement project. That segment of road had been closed for part of last week, but was open for the long weekend.
It will be open Tuesday night with lane restrictions, and closed again Wednesday for construction.
