Estevan Mercury editor David Willberg presents a gift bag with prizes to Valentine's Day promotion winner Sherry Goudy.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Mercury is excited to announce the winner of our Date Nights for a Year promotion.

Sherry Goudy had her name drawn Tuesday morning from the 2,571 entries that were received. She won $100 gift cards for local restaurants and grocery stores, 12 pairs of tickets to the Orpheum Theatre, along with date night activities for the Souris Valley Theatre, the Estevan Bruins, the Estevan Motor Speedway and Global Golf Plus.

The Mercury is pleased with the tremendous response from our Facebook followers, our sponsor partners and their Facebook followers.

People could enter to win by commenting on Facebook posts for the Mercury and other participating businesses.

Estevan Mercury sales manager Pat Pasloski said the comments on Facebook were sweet, funny and heartwarming. There are many excellent restaurants and other locations in our city for date night, she said, and there are so many activities to attend throughout the year.

She added this promotion was an opportunity for the Mercury to highlight many of the great things about our community.

“It is nice to be able to treat our sweethearts on a special day, but this prize package was jam-packed with gift cards and passes for Date Night for a Year.”
