The Assiniboia Chamber announced that the annual Santa Lights Parade will be held on Wednesday, December 1.

ASSINIBOIA - Registration deadlines are soon approaching for a couple of Assiniboia and District Chamber of Commerce events.

COVID-19 regulations will be in place for these upcoming events, including vaccation requirements and mandatory masking.

The Assiniboia Chamber and the organizers of the 2022 Viterra Scotties Women’s Provincial Curling Championship have partnered to offer a Lunch and Learn event at the Canalta Hotel on Thursday, November 25.

The luncheon will be held from 12 noon to 1 p.m., and costs $5.

Local businesses can RSVP for the event by emailing the Chamber at [email protected] by Friday, November 19.

The Assiniboia Chamber announced that the annual Santa Lights Parade will be held on Wednesday, December 1. They would like to invite local businesses, organizations and groups to create a float for this year’s parade.

All floats will meet in the Civic Centre parking lot at 6 p.m. with the parade beginning at 6:30 p.m. Businesses are reminded that no candy should be thrown from the floats due to safety concerns.

If a business would like to distribute candy or other items, please have someone walking on the street beside the float to hand them out. There will be an official Santa riding at the end of the parade so other floats should refrain from also having people dressed as Santa.

Local businesses who would like to enter a float in this year’s parade should contact the Assiniboia Chamber by calling 306-642-5553.

The Assiniboia Chamber will be holding their annual Christmas Social at the Curling Rink Lounge on Friday, December 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. Local businesses can attend the come-and-go event, which will be a safe evening of good food and great company. To show appreciation for their members and their commitment to Assiniboia and community, there is no cost to attend the event.

There will be complimentary food and a cash bar. The Chamber will follow all provincial COVID-19 regulations in place at the time of the event, including mandatory masking and proof of vaccinations.

Businesses can RSVP by emailing the Chamber at [email protected] by Friday, November 26.
