ASSINIBOIA - The Assiniboia Town Council held a meeting on April 12. In attendance were Mayor Sharon Schaunenberg; Councillors Robert Ellert, Kent Fettes, Patrick Grondin, Graham Harvey, and Peter Kordus; CAO Clint Mauthe; and Kerri Martin, director of corporate services.
The minutes of the agenda were approved. Minutes from the previous meeting were also approved.
Administration Reports
Town Council accepted reports from the CAO, the list of paid accounts, and the water quality report.
Correspondence from the Assiniboia and District Historical Society and the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Central Protection Services was accepted as information for council.
Council approved the following to be adopted as presented: the minutes of the Assiniboia and District Historical Society held on February 16; the minutes of the Finance and Administration Committee held January 18; the minutes of the Planning and Development Committee held Janaury 25; and the minutes of the Recreation and Community Wellness Committee held January 24.
New Business
Town Council approved the sale of the 1975 Dodge Water Truck Model 600, Serial # D61FM5J006095 to Assiniboia Ruff Riders Motocross club for $0. Motioned by Harvey and Ellert. Carried.
Town of Assiniboia approved Chucks Collision Centre’s application for fence replacement to be defined as replacement of the façade, and upgraded signage for grant funding under the Main Street Revitalization Grant for a maximum amount of $4,931.18. This motion is with conditions that all requirements set out for eligibility in both the Community Incentive Policy and the Agreement are met prior to release of funds and authorizes the Town signing authorities to enter into agreement as presented. Motioned by Ellert and Kordus.
Town Council amended Bylaw 06/22 Schedule “A” forming a part of Fees and Charges Bylaw 02/15, and provided first, second and third reading. After the final reading, the bylaw was enacted with the amended schedule for the Town of Assiniboia.
Town Council renewed the Cash Lease Agreement with Providence Farm Ltd., to expire March 31, 2024. Motioned called by Fettes and Harvey. Carried.
Town Council approved free residential and commercial spring and fall tipping at the landfill, excluding contractor and demolition waste for the following dates: Saturday May 14 to Saturday May 21; and Saturday, October 22 to Saturday, October 29. Motion called by Harvey and Fettes. Carried.
Town Council directed administration to advertise the sale of 110 Fourth Avenue East, also known as the Old Library Building and accept offers until June 30, 2022. Motion called by Fettes and Harvey. Carried.

Mayor Sharon Schauenberg attended the Civic Centre farewell, SUMA convention, Minister meetings, and Doctor Recruitment meeting. She attended a budget meeting held on April 18.
Councillor Robert Ellert attended the Civic Centre farewell, SUMA convention, and Minister meetings. Kent announced his new manager position at Richardson Pioneer Terminal.
Councillor Patrick Grondin attended the Civic Centre farewell, SUMA convention, and Minister meetings.
Councillor Graham Harvey attended the Civic Centre farewell and Minister meetings. He presented the Music Festival Scholarship at the STARS of the Festival. He will attend a Library meeting and a Prince of Wales meeting.
Councillor Peter Kordus attended SUMA and Minister meetings.
