CARLYLE - Recently the Town of Carlyle had a 19-passenger Beechcraft 1900D airplane land at its airport.
It is a pressurized twin-engine turboprop fixed-wing aircraft used to carry passengers in all weather conditions from airports with relatively short runways.
On this day, the Beechcraft was transporting oil patch executives to and from Calgary.
Said airport manager Duncan Brown, “This is the biggest plane that I have seen land here for many years. Pretty impressive for an airport with a 4,000-foot runway.”
