A total of 34 booths and tables will be set up in Jubilee Park on Saturday, Aug. 21, for “Gifted”, presented by the Weyburn Arts Council.
The booths will include a wide variety of artists and craftspersons, as well as some non-profit organizations in a loop extending from the Douglas Road parking lot, over to the 13th Street parking lot and towards the park’s centre, said Regan Lanning, curator for the Arts Council.
In the event of inclement weather, such as rain or extreme heat, the show will then be moved to the Cugnet Centre, said Lanning.
“They’ll be very spread out, and you can take your time looking through the booths and enjoy yourself,” she said.
The non-profit groups who will be present include the Weyburn Rotary Club, who will have a “hippo roller” and raffle tickets available; the Weyburn Humane Society, and the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club, along with the Weyburn Arts Council.
The Lowbrow BBQ food truck will also be present, set up in the 13th Street parking lot, and Balls will have a booth offering their candied apples.
The variety of mediums will include sewing, quilt-making, knitting and crocheting, wood-working, macramé, embroidery, painting and drawing, pottery, jewelry and fibre art, among others.
Lanning noted that she will have application forms for the winter holiday market, which will be held in the new Credit Union Spark Centre.
“There will be something for everyone. Come check out the art in the park … For me, this is the first time we’ve been able to be gathering in person in over a year, so this is really special,” said Lanning.
