Weyburn Duplicate Bridge report

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club's annual Christmas social will be held on December 21 at the Wheatland Senior Centre starting with a turkey dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by an evening of bridge.

In regular club play on November 14 when there were three and a half tables, Gord Bell and Lucie Nickel took top honours, Bernie and Don Dufour were second and Keith Eichel and Lydia Milleker were third.

With three tables playing on November 16 there was a tie for first place between Bernie and Don Dufour and Barry Mactaggart and Keith Eichel.

Three and a half tables played on November 21. Chuck Widdis and John Whitell took first place, Gord Bell and Marg Stewart placed second and Erskine and Mildred Sandiford finished third.

On November 23 with four and a half tables, Quint Patrick and George Gilles took first place, Chuck Widdis and John Whitell placed second, Diane Bell and Barry Mactaggart were third and Andy Goeres and Andy Dumba were fourth.

November 28 was the ACBL Charity Game where Duplicate Bridge Clubs across North America play the same hands. There were three tables and Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart placed first followed by Chuck Widdis and John Whitell in second place.

November 30 also had three tables and finishing in first place were Jim Brown and George Gilles followed by Keith Eichel and Quint Patrick in second.

December 5 started the month with a larger group and five tables played. Keith Eichel and Warren Betker finished in first place, Marg Marinos and Marg Stewart placed second, Isabelle Butters and Margarette Bangsund placed third, and there was a tie for fourth between Lydia Milleker and Lucie Nickel and Andy Goeres and George Gilles.
