Traffic flows by on First Avenue North just off Government Road, as a pothole sits waiting to ensnare a wheel or two of an unsuspecting motorist. A series of these potholes can be seen along First Avenue leading up to the intersection, and are only worsening as they fill up with water, as shown, which freezes overnight and then gets pounded out by vehicles driving through it. City works crews have since fixed this pothole, but there are other potholes around the city and work crews are busy attending to them as they appear during the spring breakup.
