The Griffin Recreation Board has some upcoming events planned for November.
*The Board held their last meeting on October 4 (always the first Monday of the month). The Playground Committee reported that it has been very busy and the Griffin Centennial Park is looking great. The new sign is up and waiting to be painted and the new picnic tables and benches have been assembled, but are not yet in place.
*Michelle Staples had brought some new life to the Rec. Center with her Jazz and Tap dance lessons taking place every Monday night.
*The Rec. Board is looking for someone to volunteer or hire at a reasonable price to finish installing the metal siding on the back of the building. Contact Suzanne Stomp at 842-0944 if available to help out.
*The Fundraising Committee has been very busy planning some upcoming events. The annual Griffin Tradeshow will take place Saturday, November 6 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rec. Center. Participants can enjoy potluck appetizers, a cash bar, and door prizes and get started on Christmas shopping. This year, there will also be trays of Christmas baking available for purchase.
*On November 28, the annual Grey Cup Party and Chilli Cook-off will take place. Entries need to be dropped off at the Rec. Center by 4 p.m. Participants are welcome to enjoy the big game on the big screen and have a few beverages to wash down the chilli.
