Third annual Active Toy Guide

'Twas a month until Christmas when arose such a clatter, Saskatchewan kids face a serious matter.

'Twas a month until Christmas when arose such a clatter, Saskatchewan kids face a serious matter. Less than 15% of them are active enough each day, as hours of screen time take over active play'

Children and youth are averaging six to seven hours of screen time per day. Saskatchewan in motion has lots of positive solutions to help parents increase activity time and decrease screen time. This holiday season Saskatchewan in motion has put together its third annual Active Toy Guide filled with gift ideas, to encourage kids to play in a physically active way.

"We know it can be difficult to balance Santa's wish list of the latest electronic games and toys with active options. We hope the Active Toy Guide will help parents find one or two items to slip under the tree that will inspire some fresh air and active play this year," said Cathie Kryzanowski, General Manager of Saskatchewan in motion.

This year's guide includes loads of active toys, including cool classics, active electronics, and stocking stuffers to help find the perfect active gift. All toys featured in the Active Toy Guide encourage active play for a variety of ages, boys and girls, indoor and outdoor, as well as some for the entire family. To make sure our choices are extra fun, we got some expert help from Tracy Bosche of Zippity Zoom Toys and official toy testers, aged two to 11.
