The Soo Line Historical Museum held a variety of events over the summer, beginning with a float in the Centennial Parade on July 2. The float was a 1964 Ford Convertible owned and driven by Wayne Knibbs.
During the Wheat Festival /Centennial Celebration on August 2 and 3, the museum sold bread and pies and were sold out Aug 3 at 2:30 p.m. The museum surpassed the attendance on those two days by 150 from previous years.
Winners of the Bread Baking Contest held on August 1 were:
In the White Bread category, Misty Lecuyer in first place, Jean Fahlman in second and Frieda Lillejord in third.
Jean Fahlman took first place in the Brown Bread category, with Delores Frey coming in second and
Frieda Lillejord in third.
Jean Fahlman also took first place in the Multigrain Bread category, with Delores Frey taking second place.
Frieda Lillejord won first place in the Specialty Bread category, with Delores Frey in second.
Misty Lecuyer won first place in the White Buns category, Delores Frey won second and Frieda Lillejord won third.
Frieda Lillejord took first place for Brown Buns and Delores Frey placed second.
The museum has hosted three tours in July and August so far, Tatagwa View Child Care, Fun In The Sun Camp and Tatagwa View Residents.
A new program "Artifact Bingo" can be played while touring the museum.
