Members of Weyburn's Crocus Quilt Guild held a very successful quilts show on May 9 and 10.

Over 250 viewers came in from the chilly days to see 170 quilted items. The theme, Spring Bouquet of Quilts V was carried out with flower decor and many swatches of colours in the curling rink for the two day show.

Voting determined that show- goers prefer traditional quilts as Elma McCormick's hand pieced and hand quilted bed quilt was selected as the People's Choice. The Khedive quilters did a wonderful job of hand quilting on Elma's meticulous piecing. The runner up in voting was Leeann Millar's heart bargello quilt, a wonderful cascade of colour.

The raffle quilt, a queen size batik beauty, was won by Michelle Severson.

Proceeds from the show and raffles will be used for charity work in the fall. The group supports the Family Place, teen mums, the United Way Communithon and many calls for silent auction items.
