Retired RCMP Sergeant Edgar A. Kuhn was eager to show visitors to Heritage Village the replica Royal North West Mounted Police (RNWMP) barracks during the Wheat Festival on August 6, 7 and 8. He has been collecting the various items in the building since it was established at Heritage Village during Saskatchewan's centennial in 2005.

Several donors from Weyburn and area have contributed to the barracks that is furnished back to 1913, the year Weyburn became a city. The building was originally the Nelson pioneer homestead from north of Midale.

Visitors to Heritage Village can view the RNWMP barracks and the rest of Heritage Village until the end of August, seven days a week from 1 to 8 p.m.
