Old Tyme Fiddle Contest

Sixteen competitors and about 150 spectators took in the 11th annual Old Tyme Fiddle Contest at McKenna Hall on April 16.

Sixteen competitors and about 150 spectators took in the 11th annual Old Tyme Fiddle Contest at McKenna Hall on April 16.

Winners of the competition were:

Championship: 1st James Steele - Saskatoon; 2nd Raymond Knorr - Regina; and 3rd Derek Rude - Lake Alma.

Open: 1st Kristian Wenaus - Regina; 2nd Michele Amy- Carlyle; 3rd Elisa Fawcett - Yellow Grass; and 4th Jim Maddock - Moosomin.

Senior: 1st Fred Easton - Kenosee Lake.

Junior: 1st Patric Tinant - Bellgarde; 2nd Emily Klatt - Carlyle; 3rd Aimee Poirier - Antler; and 4th Benjamin Knorr - Regina.

Novice: 1st Benjamin Katz - Regina; 2nd Joshua LaForet - Stoughton; 3rd Micah Walbaum - Stoughton; and 4th Shoni King - Corning.

Twin Fiddle: 1st Elisa Fawcett & James Steele; 2nd Aimee Poirier & Emily Klatt; and 3rd Jim Maddock & Derek Rude.

Novelty: 1st James Steele; 2nd Michele Amy; and 3rd Shoni King & Micah Walbaum.

The Youngest Competitor was seven-year-old Micah Walbaum and the Young at Heart Competitor was 87-year-old Fred Easton.
