WEYBURN - Two new art exhibits are now on display at the Weyburn Art Gallery, located in the Credit Union Spark Centre. These exhibits can be viewed during normal business hours of the Spark Centre, and there is no cost to tour the Art Gallery.
The “Gaia Symphony” exhibit was created by Saskatchewan artist Hanna Yokozawa Farquharson.
Hanna began making textile art blending imagery from rural Saskatchewan with the Japanese aesthetic qualities of Wabi-Sabi. The creation of this body of work was funded by SK Arts via their Independent Artist Grant.
The “Canadiana: A Visual Celebration of Canada from Coast to Coast” was created by B.C. artist Susan Schaefer. She is a well-known art instructor in the Oceanside area, the Comax Vallery and the Alberni Vallery.
