The Helen Davidson Music Award Committee has announced two winners for the 2013 year.
Kjel Sidloski and Lisa Frederick will each receive $2,000 to go toward their music education.
Sidloski has a passion for music in several mediums - piano, guitar, voice and composition.
He plans to pursue his study of music composition at the University of British Columbia this fall.
Frederick is working towards her ARCT Performers Exam this June with an ambitious piano repertoire. She is a wife and mother of three children.
Lisa and Kjel will receive their awards at the T.C. Douglas Centre on June 23 at 7:00 p.m., at which time they will present a concert for the public. There will be a reception with refreshments to follow. Admission is free to the event, but a donation jar will be available to cover costs.
The Helen Davidson Music Award honours the dedication and passion for music which Mrs. Davidson shared with us as a teacher and church organist in our community for many years.
