A group of girls from the Food Studies 10 class learn how to make bannock in the traditional way of the First Nations people, during a special class session at the Comp School on Apr. 9. From left are Ellysha Whitrow, Tana Wilkins, Jenna Neufeld, cultural advisor Barb Frazer and Katherine Frederick. Frazer used no recipe for this way of making bannock; she was on hand to talk to a couple of classes about First Nations culture and traditional practices, and the class was then able to eat their fresh-baked bannock with butter, fresh out of the oven.
