Johnny Cash

Rockglen hosted a number of entertainment events on March 18 and the highlight was the Johnny Cash tribute concert.
The evening began with a supper special served at The Burning Hills Caf茅, continued with great live entertainment at the Dreamland Theatre and then was capped off with dueling pianos at the Rolling Rock Bar until the early morning. The Johnny Cash tribute concert fronted by Aaron Prociuk attracted a jam-packed crowd to Rockglen鈥檚 Dreamland Theatre.
For two and a half hours Aaron Prociuk, Ashley Robertson and Sam Little played music made famous by The Man in Black in the 1950s and 60s.
With his smooth baritone, Prociuk presented a diverse repertoire from the legendary Cash鈥檚 songbook including his biggest hits like 鈥淩ing of Fire鈥, 鈥淛ackson鈥 and 鈥淔olsom Prison Blues鈥.
They even sang a selection of songs written by Cash鈥檚 friends like Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson. Prociuk provided not only song but the complete package 鈥 the strumming guitar, the clothes, and the black pompadour hair. Smiles were plentiful and spirits high as people left the theatre after a standing ovation and an encore ending with the classic 鈥淩ing of Fire鈥.
This concert made the third in a winter series of musical events brought to Rockglen by The Neil Jones Studio, Hillbilly Stills Productions and Burning Hills Caf茅. The fourth and final event of this series brings prairie singer-songwriter and recording artist Megan Nash and Bears in Hazenmore to The Dreamland Theatre on Friday, April 7 to perform at 7:30 p.m.
For fans looking for tickets priced at $20, they can stop in Tickets at The Burning Hills Caf茅 or shop online at www.brownpapertickets.ca. They can also call 306-476-2223 for more information.
