The making of jewelry is truly an art from concept to execution of the design.
Art Farm board member Shelley Lueck has been designing jewelry for 10 years creating pieces of jewelry that will give continuous pleasure to anyone who wears it.
"What really spurred me was going to Brazil with our exchange student. There were these cool necklaces to purchase that I could probably make," said Lueck.
Since that moment, she has been designing her own jewelry which is available at a business in town and also in Regina.
As a nurse, Lueck uses her jewelry making as a way to relax and get in touch with her creative side.
"I have used mixed metals, gemstones, leather and crystals," she said. "Usually when someone starts a hobby, they start it and quit. I try to find new ideas to keep it fresh."
In keeping her ideas fresh, she got the idea to make bracelets with a portion of the proceeds being donated to C.H.O.I.C.E Cambodia, a non-profit charity that provides clean drinking water, medical, and food to impoverished families in Cambodia.
"My son went and volunteered in Cambodia," she said, which is where the idea originated.
Lueck will be one of the vendors at Art Farm this year, along with photographer Tina Hudson.
Through the eye of a photographer, everything looks picturesque. Just take a drive with Hudson.
"I can never just drive home and not always have to find lines and curves," she said, adding she makes stops along the highway because something, the way the light hits a field, the lines of an old farm building, or the way the sunset curves draw her attention.
Right now, Hudson's work is travelling with OSAC throughout the province.
Hudson bought her first SLR camera six years ago and has learned through joining a camera club, taking courses and going to work shops.
In 2011, Hudson received her advanced certificate from SIAST.
"My all time favourite thing to shoot are portraits," she said. "I love shooting them and capturing their personality."
Also a board member of Art Farm, Hudson joins 30 other artists to sell and exhibit their work on June 14 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the van der Breggen acreage.
Art Farm is a family event that will include, food, live music, face painting, kids activities, horse drawn wagon rides as well as art in many mediums.
Admission is $2 with children under 12 free.
Painters, potters, photographers, musicians, performing artists come together to give a market type experience in a casual country atmosphere.
""Whether you are an artist or not, the experience of the farm - the wagon rides, entertainment while supporting local artists, it's a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon," said Lueck.
