Hal Schrenk, who grew up in Assiniboia and now lives in Saskatoon, has been nominated for two Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards. The winners will be announced at the SCMA Industry Brunch and the SCMA Awards Show and Gala on Saturday, April 1 at TCU Place in Saskatoon. Schrenk was nominated in the All Star Band (drums) category and All Star Band (specialty) categories. He was very surprised to be chosen as a nominee. 鈥淚 am very excited and humbled to be nominated in the 鈥淒rummer of the year Category鈥� at the 2017 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards.鈥�
For the summer Schrenk will be touring with Codie Prevost, Bruin, Sonia Reid Noble and Crystal Shawanda. Despite his whirlwind schedule, Schrenk still has fond memories of his musical beginnings in Assiniboia.
