Children react in exclamations and joy as fireworks explode into the night sky, during a "White Night" for the City of Weyburn on New Year's Eve. These fireworks were special because they also marked the end of the centennial year for the city. There were a number of centennial events throughout 2013, including the Homecoming weekend in August, and the bell ringing ceremony on Weyburn's actual incorporation as a city on September 13, 2013. The "White Night" celebration included a large bonfire, controlled by the Weyburn Fire Department, and hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone in attendance.
