Crocus 80 wins three TheatreOne awards for 'Collateral Bodies'

Crocus 80 Theatre cast and crew of "Collateral Bodies" gather at the Regina Performing Arts Centre, where they competed at Theatre Saskatchewan's TheatreOne competition, hosted by Regina Little Theatre on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 2. Crocus 80 Theatre won the Shumiatcher Trophy for Best Play, sponsored by Dr. Jacqui Shumiatcher; their director Charline Doney won the Florence Eberle Memorial Trophy for Best Director, sponsored by Theatre Saskatchewan; and the entire cast won the Janet Lowndes Trophy for Acting, sponsored by Janet Lowndes. "Collateral Bodies" is a one-act drama concerning the issues of femicide in different cultures, and it is written by Erin Rachel Kaplan. There were nine groups in total competing at TheatreOne: Regina Little Theatre, Cochin Community Players, Tumbleweed Theatre from Balgonie, Battleford Community Players, Prairieland Players from Kerrobert, That Kritical Stage from Kyle, Kamsack Players Drama Club and the Paper Bag Players from Yorkton.
