Comedian Butt to kick off exciting lineup of performances at Cugnet Centre

The Weyburn Concert Series will be offering an exciting variety of performers during the 2013-2014 year. On October 15, Brent Butt will be taking the stage of the new Cugnet Centre at 7:30 p.m. for his stand up comedy act.

On October 15, Brent Butt will be taking the stage of the new Cugnet Centre at 7:30 p.m. for his stand up comedy act. Butt, who is from Tisdale, SK, is best known for his critically-acclaimed CTV television series, 'Corner Gas', which was filmed in Rouleau, SK.

Award-winning vocalist and songwriter Lizzy Hoyt will be performing on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. Along with her trio, Hoyt combines western country-folk sounds with Maritime sounds, using her talent on the fiddle, guitar, mandolin and harp.

Singer-songwriter Jim Reader will be performing on November 22 along with the ProCoro Canada Chamber Choir from Edmonton. The western heritage concert will include a computerized slide show with 400+ photographs and artworks. The event is sure to be a multi-sensory experience.

Jeffrey Straker, also a singer-songwriter, will be performing on February 10 at 7:30 p.m. as part of his Canada-wide yearly tour. Known for his stellar showmanship, Straker offers an entertaining night out for everyone.

Chamber music group Infinitus will be taking the stage on March 17, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Their music is played on CBC Radio Two and the group has appeared at numerous festivals across Canada.

Patsy Cline fans won't want to miss a visit from The Inclines on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. The event will be a musical celebration of the life and times of legendary country singer, Patsy Cline. Perofrming such classics as 'I Fall to Pieces', 'Crazy' and 'Walkin' After Midnight', Michelle Anseeuw is backed by harmonious vocalists that are sure to help audiences relive the true Nashville sound.

Season tickets are available before May 31 for $92, but after May 31 the price will be $118. Season tickets for children 12 and under are $18. Individual concert tickets are $24 for adults, $9 for children in advance, $27 and $12 for children at the door.

All events will take place at Cugnet Centre, which is located at the Weyburn Comprehensive School via the north doors. Tickets are available at Superior Office Products, Weyburn.
