Charlie Pirie cleans off the mortar from bricks salvaged from the Weyburn Collegiate (in the background), for a request to save 1,000 bricks for the City of Weyburn's Centennial project. The bricks are being saved as the Collegiate was built in 1913, the year Weyburn became a city, and they are to be used to build a monument housing the old post office bell, which was cast in 1913. The monument will placed along the boardwalk as a tribute to the city's centennial. The Collegiate, meantime, is to be demolished, along with the Cafetorium area, as part of Phase 2 of the construction and renovations at the Weyburn Comprehensive School.
