A special High School Alumni Choir is being formed for Weyburn's centennial.
Everyone and anyone who ever sang in a choir at the Weyburn Collegiate Institute (WCI) or Weyburn Comprehensive School (WCS) are invited to be part of an Alumni Mass Choir.
All the alumni choir singers will perform during a special concert at the Comp Cafetorium on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
Rehearsal times for interested choir alumni is at the Comp Cafetorium on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4, at 1 p.m.
Also all past and present STARS choir members are invited to form a choir as well. Their rehearsal times will be in the Comp Cafetorium on Friday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m.

The Weyburn Collegiate Institute is 100 years old this year and many classes are planning get-togethers during the August 1 to 5 weekend.

The high school was called Weyburn Collegiate Institute (WCI) from 1912 until 1972. Additions were put on in the early 70s and the name was changed to the Weyburn Comprehensive School to encompass the industrial arts classes introduced at that time.
The old school had a woodworking shop and commercial room, and for a while there was a commercial course.
The older brick area which is the original structure of the Weyburn Collegiate Institute will be demolished by the Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Cornerstone Public School Board.
The demolition is part of contract two of their renovations to the Weyburn Comprehensive.
A tender was put out for contract two recently. There is no known date when demolition might start. Some alumni hope that the building will still be intact for the Homecoming celebration to host the reunions.
