WEYBURN - A pair of fundraiser events are coming up for the Weyburn Wheatland Seniors Centre, along with their month-end supper.
The centre will hold a craft and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To rent a table at the sale, the cost is $20 per table, and can be booked by calling Marlene at 306-891-5230, or calling the centre at 306-842-3503.
Wheatland will also hold a beef-on-a-bun luncheon on Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at a cost of $8.
The month-end supper will be held on Friday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m., featuring pork cutlets. Call the centre or come by in person to add your name to the list of those attending, with the deadline of Wednesday, Nov. 23 before noon.
The results of games held at Wheatland from Nov. 7-11 are as follows.
In spades, Basil Holyer won first place, Ray Boucher was second, and Mildred Sandiford was third.
In hi-low whist, first place was won by Basil Holyer and Emily Zyla; second was Gladys Lokken and Sharon Eggum; third was a tie between Marg Schultz and Fay, and Chris Herlick and Phyllis Lindskog. The winners of canasta were Trina Maas in first, Marg Warnke in second, Gerry Thompson in third, Lavine Stepp in fourth, and Chris Herlick in fifth.
In Thursday cribbage, Shirley Sparks and Rose Levesque won first place; Ray and Connie Boucher were second; and Basil Holyer and Marg Leavens placed third.
Bingo games are held at the Wheatland every Thursday at 1 p.m. Slider cards are available for 50 cents.
Membership dues for the Wheatland Sr. Centre are $30 for the year for 2023.
