Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club to hold Christmas dinner

WEYBURN - The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club will have its annual Christmas dinner and social at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Monday, Dec. 12, prior to playing bridge.

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club plays bridge at the Wheatland Seniors Centre on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and on Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. All bridge players are welcome to come and play.

On November 3 there were four and a half tables that played and Diane Bell and Marg Stewart were first place finishers; Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel took second edging out Terry Bendickson and John Whitell who came third; while Gord Bell and Jim Kaz were fourth.

On Nov. 7 with only two and a half tables playing, Barry Mactaggart and Diane Bell placed first, and Gord Bell and Marg Stewart were second.

Four tables played on Nov. 10 and in a close finish, Dave Creurer and Boyd Stewart placed first, Erskine and Mildred Sandiford came second, and Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz were third.

On Nov. 14 with four tables playing, Gord Bell and Jim Kaz placed first, and there was a tie for second place between the pairs of Linda Kot and Joan Harder, and Meta Murray and Fran Franks.

Five tables played on Nov. 17 and first place went to Gord Bell and Erskine Sandiford; second went to Jean Fahlman and Joan Harder; third went to Dave Creurer and Boyd Stewart; and there was a tie for fourth between Millie Nimegeers and Jerry Ponto and the pair of Marg Stewart and Diane Bell.

Nov. 21 had three tables and Barry Mactaggart and Gord Bell claimed first place while Joan Harder and Linda Kot finished in second place.

Four tables played on Nov. 24 and taking first place were Millie Nimegeers and Jerry Ponto; Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart took second; and Lucie Nickel and Linda Kot came third.
