ESTEVAN – United Way Estevan is excited to welcome Heidi Hesselink as its incoming executive director.
Hesselink brings with her many years of experience working in the education sector and being involved in the community.
She says she is “very excited about this new opportunity. It feels like such a great fit, being able to work with the amazing board of directors and staff at United Way Estevan, and getting the opportunity to work together to serve and support our community.”
Hesselink will work alongside outgoing executive director Sheila Guenther and finance director Kent Pachal to assist the board with its most important fundraising event, the United Way Telethon. This year’s event will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch on Oct. 15 and 16.
United Way Estevan board president Danny Ewen added: “We are very excited to bring Heidi on board as our new executive director. We feel fortunate that the timing worked out that Heidi was available to us just as we were preparing to start our search for Sheila’s replacement. We will miss Sheila as part of our organization, but it will help knowing she is here to help Heidi transition into the role as smoothly as possible.”
