UC Chimes: Carlyle United is on Facebook

It's hard to believe but the new church year has begun already. We've changed the colors from green to blue and there are all kinds of strangely dressed characters dropping in to our church services. This year's Advent theme is "Fresh Starts".

It's hard to believe but the new church year has begun already. We've changed the colors from green to blue and there are all kinds of strangely dressed characters dropping in to our church services.

This year's Advent theme is "Fresh Starts". Stop in and see what all the excitement is about.

Don't forget that this weekend is High Tea at the United Church. As usual, the church is beautifully decorated with a forest of Christmas trees and lots of quilts are decking the church hall, making this an inviting place to enjoy delicious treats.

The UCW will be hosting their Christmas party. If you wish, you may bring a donation for the Food Bank as your gift.

Carlyle United Church will hold a Blue Christmas Service for anyone who finds this time of year less than joyful. There are many different reasons for "the blues" and anyone is welcome to attend this service.

Once again this year our White Gift donations will be going towards a campaign for needy families around the world. What a wonderful time of year to help out the less fortunate. Community Carol Festival will take place that evening.

Dec. 19 regular worship service will include the Christmas Pageant.

Christmas Eve will be communion service as we welcome the birth of the Christ Child. There will be no service Dec. 26 or Jan. 2.

If you haven't checked out our Facebook site yet, just type in "Carlyle United Church" in the "Search" window on the top right of your Facebook page. There is a daily prayer, weekly discussion topics, weekly reflection, announcements and more. Also, if you aren't yet receiving our weekly e-mailings of announcements or sermons, please e-mail us at [email protected] so that we can include you.

From the office of Carlyle United Church, Rev. John and I wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year.
