KIPLING - Despite the stormy weather, a small crowd gathered for the outdoor Remembrance Day service held at the Kipling Royal Canadian Legion’s cenotaph on the morning of Nov. 11.
Legion members marched down from the Legion Hall to the cenotaph to open the service, led by an RCMP honour guard and the colour party.
Master of ceremonies for the service was Robert Steil.
Wreaths were placed at the cenotaph by representatives of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies' Auxiliary, as well as other representatives for various groups in the area.
Maxwell Krecsy read out the names of the district's war dead, followed by The Last Post and two minutes of silence was observed.
