Maryfield Sunrise Villa report

Some fun activities and a new resident at the villa.

Village of Maryfield

MARYFIELD - This past week was a hot one for anybody venturing outside but good for the farming area.

No card Bingo on Aug. 30 as Dawn was on holidays. Judy and Bobble handled things on Sept. 1 for card bingo. Thank you.

Also on Sept. 1, we had a good crowd out for a hymn sing which was very nice. The next day we had exercises and Marlee is still trying to update our minds as well as our bodies. Trivia for me is a lost cause because I'm no smarter than when she started but we all keep on trying. It’s fun.

Irene Husband had a birthday and her candle was on a piece of lemon pie. Happy birthday and have a wonderful year ahead.

We have been having so many tasty, fresh vegetables and fruit. We had corn on the cob and saskatoon crumble for dinner and you can't get much better than that.

The Labour Day long weekend has come and gone and school is starting. It makes me feel like fall, which hopefully will be a long one.

We had sing-alongs with Mary & Friends, a church service, exercises, and popcorn and a movie.

The days are still warm and sunny and the nights are cool for sleeping. Fall is in the air and harvest is in full swing.

I looked out the window and saw two lucky women were getting a ride in the rumble seat of a classic roadster. Such a beautiful car.

We have been given a beautiful quilt made by Marlon Husband for us to raffle tickets for our Tenants’ Fund. You'll have to get your money ready as it’s a prize worth winning. Tickets will be available to purchase in October and the draw will be made in December right before Christmas. Thank you for your generous donation.

We would also like to welcome our new resident, Fred Restau. I hope you enjoy your stay at the villa.
