WEYBURN - There are a variety of fun activities for all ages to enjoy at the Weyburn Public Library through the month of August.
The year-end celebration for the TD Summer Reading program will be held on Monday, Aug. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be pizza and freezies for reading club participants, and the winners of the reading club contests for each age level will be announced around noon. People are asked to register by Aug. 17 so organizers know how much pizza to order.
A spray park storytime for children will be held on Friday, Aug 4 and Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. both days. The Aug. 4 session will have a beach theme, and Aug. 18 will have a camping theme.
For teens, there is a game lab on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m., with an outdoor minute-to-win-it, and water games will be played on Aug. 23.
Messy science for teens, making Mentos rockets and a carbon sugar snake, will be held outdoors on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m.
Two sessions of a teens Art Attack will be held outdoors on Thursday, Aug. 17 and 24 at 2 p.m., with pendulum painting on the 17th, and ocean scene painting on the 24th.
Join with Inclusion Weyburn to create art on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m., when they will make baking soda eruption prints.
Preschoolers can have fun with water games on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m., and a junior craft will be held for children aged six to eight on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 4 p.m., where participants can make “I love camping” sign and have a s’mores treat.
There will be creative fun for adults as well, with paint pouring on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Learn about henna tattoos on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m., and glass etching on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Those interested can learn about pickleball and lawn games on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m., at the outdoor basketball court behind the Weyburn Comprehensive School.
Library patrons are also encouraged to borrow a free regional park pass at the library, giving you access to any regional park in the province for a seven-day period, using your library card.
